Richard Wayne "Doc" Bell [RWB] was a US Navy Corpsman who served in Viet Nam and was awarded the Bronze Star among many others.

Richard Wayne "DOC" Bell was a highly decorated hero! He served both in the US Navy and US Marines.
Richard Wayne "DOC" Bell was a highly decorated hero! He served both in the US Navy and US Marines.
Richard Wayne Bell was shot down 11 times, one time he was the only survivor and had to hide in the jungle for days before he was resuced.
Over 10,000 US Navy Corpsmen served during the Vietnam war. Of them over 3,300 were wounded (including RWB) and 645 were killed in action.
According to Judy Bell, of the 88 in Doc Bell's class only 4 (including RWB and his brother Shelby Bell who served in the same unit) survived the war.

FamilyRichard Wayne "Doc" Bell (RWB) had a son in 1969, he was eventually named Aaron Michael Janssen who was adopted by Michael Allen Janssen and Betsy Janssen (Betsy Frederick).
RWB married Lana Bell (Lana Alverson) in 1972. In 1976 they had a daughter Jenny Bell (Jenny Kinney), Jenny had two children Jett Middleton and Jagger Middleton. He later married Judy Tich Bell, she had two children from a previous marriage.
